Lake County Forum, May 6, 2010
Sourcing Office thanks the 23 attendees of this, our initial, forum. We also deeply appreciate the help of the two Sourcing Office members who co-hosted the event: Concord Township Administrator Jack Nettis, who also provided the meeting center, and Painesville City Manager Rita McMahon.
The purpose of the event was to inform local government, non-for-profits, and special districts of how Sourcing Office works with participants and suppliers to procure goods and services in accordance with applicable public sector guidelines.
"The Sourcing Office event was very informative and the Lake County Board of DD is excited to participate in their office supply program," said Procurement Director Diana Nichols. "We are very proud of Lake County and will do whatever we can to save money to help our organization."
With the budget restrictions that the Lake County Board of DD has experienced recently, Nichols said the organization would like to save at least 10 percent on office supplies in the next year. They are also considering joining Sourcing Office's electricity program.
Another large entity who joined Sourcing Office as a result of the forum is Lake Metroparks.
We are thrilled by the attendence and level of interest in Sourcing Office's programs. Local governments are facing severe financial challenges and it is a pleasure to work with such a large group of public officials committed to cutting costs and improving interal operations.
